well talking about concussions. I knew it was a pretty common thing it the sport of football but the numbers this tells you is alot. And it says that the players returned after 2 weeks. Im not a doctor but something tells me that if your brain bounces off the side of your skull that your gonna need more then 2 weeks to fully recover from that. It also stated the 17 people have died from it. All high school players this is kinda sad but I think that only 17 is a good statistic out of all the players that receive concussions. I think that more precaution should be taken when it comes to protecting players and treating them. This could save the lives of the 17 and help prevent other concussions from happening. This paper also states that to be released the person must be symptom free for 7 days. What even are the symptoms of a concussion. I dont have a clue. But I do think that the time to wait should be pushed back way more with kids that brains are still maturing. So that they dont get hurt worse and end up ruining the rest of their lives. And now im gonna give you my opinion on coaches that want to win even tho it comes down to putting a hurt kid back into the game hurting him even worse even death. This just is crazy and I know that it is different in some people than others but I think that when it comes down to a decision like that the kids parents and athletic trainer should make the choice not the coach. Because most are hungry for the win and would do anything to get that.

Ok this person talks about how they are stressed for their students. I believe him but there are alot of teachers who just want to get the paycheck and could care less if the kids are making it through school. They say that you aren't coming to school to learn it is to learn how to survive life when the going gets tough. And that school may seem difficult but when it comes to reality it is easy and you with you could go back. And that you are just quitting when you dont do anything or when you skipclass or dont pay any attention. And this is so true doing this is getting you nowhere and is only hurting you so you need to buckle down and do what you need to do. So you can make it through school with no troubles and start you life out ahead. And we need more teaches that will push kids that get lazy and dont do what there supposed to do to straighten out because they are just hurting themselves when they dont do these in school. This article really inspires me to do better in school because I want to succeed and have a good time to but it all comes down to your future and your really hurting it when you quit and get lazy.

So the election just happened. And everyone is talking about what should have passed and what didnt I could care less really. Maybe it will came to me when I am old enough to vote but not now. i think this article of the week is really stupid and boring. All it talks about is the politicians campaigning and what there are doing so that more people see their ads to vote for them. I think it is really smart of them to go to social media with all the people that are on it. That is genius I dont know why they didnt think of this earlier. That is a sure fire way to get more votes.

Rise of the Machines
I think it is extremely stupid of someone to want a machine to be smarter than humans that just makes no sense to me. I believe that if the machine is smarter than humans they would want to wipe humans off the face of the earth so they could be the top of the food chain. I see the movie terminator when I picture machines rising over humans. People keep saying that this is a real possibility of happening soon and too be honest I'm kinda scared.  don't want a machine wanting to kill me and to be smarter than me. They are just supposed to make life easier and to be tools. So if you ask me super intelligence is a curse. I kinda hope there are some people like me out there so this doesn't end up happening. I have heard that some computers are already smart like they can win chess games and I don't even know how to play. I heard of one experiment were the robots actually learned and there are not programmed that way so they can actually adapt.

poetry reflection

So I m not a big fan of this whole poetry thing. It all just confuses me. Like I m just trying to read this id like to understand it. If they want to write in code then why not use morse code instead of peotry.  But all of the teachers of english just ram it down my throat. It is kinda interesting how they can express how they feel with so little words and not even say a thing about how they feel. That interests me but it is so hard for me to dissect a poem and get what the person is trying to say or express. I mean I can learn it but it is painful for me and I take my time. I cant say I have a favorite poem but I do hate some for example any of Shakespeare's work drives me nuts because I have to physically sit down and think what is he trying to say here or have someone explain it to me. He also uses big, old words that my brain cant even begin to understand so I have to look through a dictionary for like hours trying to find words and I typically never do. Another thing that absolutely kills me is when I have to write them its like my brain goes blank and so does my paper. So this is my opinion on poetry. I could care less if you like it or not.

this weeks AOW states that people are the cause of animal and plant mass extinction. The first thing that ticks me off is that they start rambling things off like there all facts when Im not even sure how they could know some of these things. They werent alive when this stuff happened so how do they know so they must not. According to these scientists people are the cause of everything that hurts plants and animals. I think not they thrive when we are around and thrive when were not. This all doesnt just bounce back on society in general some people like poachers and people who break laws over fishing and things like that are at fault and need to be brought to justice and punished. They think that there is going to be another mass extinction and i think that theyre crazy. Mass extinctions to me are just natural disasters so there is no way people can cause them.

Hong Kong's thwarted Democracy

First of all I think that is is cool how london beat the chinese and made them give up the island of hong kong to them and they kept it for 99 years. And from the sound of the way the chinese are acting about them being a democracy I think that they should have kept it. And I don't know what it is about foreign leaders but it seems that they all want communism. They act like they are all starving for power and they have to have more, more, and more. It really confuses me. From the sounds of how they are trying to convert the people and place back to the way it was before, I think that london or someone needs to stick their nose in and fight with the people there and get the peoples way for once.  If they think that converting back to communism doesn't make them look like iran or north korea they are crazy because there is no difference in them. I really hope all the protesting and fighting the people do pays off because they deserve to have a choice, not to do what ever the big power hungry dictator tells them to do.

Stand Up For Your Health
So apparently we are a stand up species but now a days everything requires us to sit down. We do it everywhere we go. With everything we do. And it is said to be making americans fat. They say long sedentary behavior causing things like poor health and heart disease. They also have national statistics proving that people who sit more are higher at risk to get certain diseases. People say that every hour people sit is linked to a drop in their fitness level. the human body is designed to move so we need to do just that. Sitting down slows down your whole system that helps you lose weight. But you don't have to just exercise anytime your body is moving and active it helps. There is a stat that says a person only burns 300 neat calories at a desk job but a waiter burns almost 1300 neat calories. So if you just stand more instead of sit you burn more calories and lose more weight.

Okay now lets talk about Ebola. There are nearly 6000 people infected now and the number is rising as we speak. It originated from the Ebola river and that's how it got it's name.Scientists say that animals had it first but they gave it to people who came in contact with their blood or bodily fluids. The symptoms of this are fever, muscle aches, weakness, sore throat, and headache followed by vomiting, diarrhea, rash, and internal bleeding. They say there have been a number of outbreaks since 1976 but if it has been around for that long then why don't we have a cure yet. I think I share the same view as other people when I say that I am kinda scared it will infect america. I mean Americans are dirty and lazy this virus could spread and we could have a pandemic on our hands. There are reported cases of Americans getting the virus, "One of the Americans died, but the other two aid workers were flown to the CDC for treatment" (Bennett 1). We really shouldn't worry much about it though because it is more likely to spread in poor countries with no clean water or proper health care system. I think that we should get every one we can to get involved in this. This virus needs stomped out. And I think that the more countries you involve the faster it can happen.

I think that the title of this article fits it very well, "Is the World going nuts?" How it talks about ISIS, Syria, and Russia really kinda scares me. All these bad people in these countries just want to kill, kill, and kill like what is that gonna solve. I think that it just makes enemies. And it does the USA and our allies all think it's wrong because it is and try to stop these overpowered rebels. I believe that this article makes a valid point when it stated, "Europe went through its own religious wars, wars or nationalism, and world wars before it became the stable continent it is today" (1 Zakaria).This is a really good point and it makes sense to me. All of the rebels fighting to change their county is a good thing not the killing but the fight for change. It needs done sometime or another so why not now because you have to get through the hard times to get to the good. So there is good coming from this. We are in the midst of a global change and I think its for the good.

So now there is this huge swimming dinosaur called the Spinosaurus. First thing first is how do they know that dinosaurs ruled the earth no one human lived back then so what makes people think that they can make a call like that. Also if this dinosaur was so big then wouldn't it been easier for people to find the bones. And from the description of this thing is sounds really fierce like "muscular arms with blade-like claws that could have nabbed slippery prey." (Khan 1) It was kind of difficult to understand some of the things these scientist were talking about because they used big words that I didn't understand. It confused me how they said that the skeleton was discovered in 1912, but it took us until now to discover it. Why? I think it's cool how they were waiting for they guy to see if he would show back up and he did at the cafe just out of nowhere. This whole talk about them reconstructing this thing, but they had to use bones from similar species. Did they not have them all? From the way they were talking it seem liked they had them all. But I guess not.

So this weeks blog is on america's roads. It is just unbelievable how long we have let this go. We keep getting signs when all of the bridges are collapsing and people dying. I don't understand why the congress men and president don't see what needs fixed around here. Everyone with a drivers license uses the roads and they are a necessity for transporting goods. If we don't repair or replace the water and gas line built with these road we could have a gigantic problem on our hands, the whole world could blow up. We really need to work on our roads, we are ranked as a D+ that is awful it is making the US look really bad. I think that we should raise taxes as bad as it sounds it would make everyone's life better by improving roads. Once again it is very important to improve these roads because if we don't it could spiral into chaos one thing failing to the next.

I think that this terrorist group know as ISIS or ISIL needs to be stopped now they are getting too strong and are well funded. If we don't stop them soon then they will most likely cause another war for the US the get involved in so that our economy with get even worse. They have killed innocent Americans and have even threatened us they have gone too far. I understand that they were once known as Al Qaeda, but it is insane how they wanted to branch away from them because they were more hardcore and killed too much. And this is coming from one terrorist to another. ISIS has so many soldier that people can't even estimate. That is crazy how they can recruit that many people. I think that the US need to take note on how they recruit because we could really use a force as big as they are. ISIS has to be planning something big if they are taking so much land that they have pretty much started their own state. That have a leader known as the "new osama bin laden." The way that they hate everyone but themselves makes me to believe that they are like a modern day hitler that wants to take over the world and kill all that oppose them. Someone really need to bring a bigger force in to stop these people if they can steal more than $430 million from someplace something really needs to be done.

AOW #2

I think that it is a really good that mexico's economy has improved, but I don't think that it did it so much that it forced all of the gangs, human trafficking, and drug wars out of the country. I understand that people hate that fact of immigrates taking jobs that are supposedly ours but if the lazy Americans would get off there butts and work instead of getting welfare all their lives we would have the jobs. If I had to live in the dirt poor country they do every day and have to worry about how I'm going to survive every day I would run away to a better place too. Where the murder rate is the highest in the world, that's crazy. Also America should have expected them to take advantage of their policy of holding kids until trial that's a smart move on the gangsters part. I am glad they're trying to change it now but it's a little late for that. I feel really bad for the children that go through all the hard times to try to get into the United States. It must really suck having to go through living hell everyday of your life but the US doesn't really have any room. Those coyotes are really smart and they must be rolling in the money back home. They cost a fortune to smuggle someone here.

My Personal Mission Statement

My mission is to work to the best of my abilities to achieve my diploma and get into college. I plan on taking everything that needs done seriously and finishing it on time. I feel that if I get the job of my dreams I could help make the world a better place for hunters and fisherman. Through my hard work and perseverance I can achieve my goals and live life to it's full potential.

AOW #1

So about this mass kidnapping in Nigeria. I understand that gunmen came into the school and took them, but how do you just get away that easily with 100 plus girls. I think that the school need to be at least somewhat more secure than that. You're supposed to feel safe at school, and if that happened to my school I would be afraid to go back for fear of it happening to me. And the government officials keep saying that they don't need help. I think that they do if the girls still haven't been found and returned home. I couldn't be that hard to find 100 plus people, I would understand if it was like a handful of people but it's not. What I got from this article It states that they had prior  knowledge on the leader of this terrorist group, but what I don't understand is that why weren't they watching him if they knew what he was capable of. The last thing I am questioning is that if limited military involvement was ineffective then why don't they try something different that would make more sense to me.

This year is going to be different than last year because last year I was very lazy and didn't like to pay any attention or do my homework. Therefor I got very poor grades on my report cards and made me look like I didn't know anything. So my senior year I plan on busting my butt and getting all my homework done on time and taking my books and papers home so I can study. It would then help me to achieve my diploma and good grades so I could get accept into the college of my dreams. Then I can get my dream job as a fish and game warden.

I am going to go home with my papers and home work when I have it and do it and have it done before the next day or school. I would also write in my planner that was given to me at the beginning of the school year to write down homework and test dates so I can study on my free time. These are the steps I'm going to follow to pass English and graduate.

One of my strengths as a student is that I am a very intelligent person when it comes to school work and common sense. I am a hard worker and like to finish things I start. My weaknesses are that I am not very good at English or writing papers, and I don't have a very wide spread vocabulary. I think that I procrastinate because I am a lazy person and like doing things the easy way and doing homework and projects are hard to do when there are more entertaining things to do at the same time. I'm going to have to sit down and force myself to do my work because I need good grades to get into the college that I want to get into.
